Common Scams to Avoid
Un-metered taxis at Shah Amanat International Airport often quote inflated flat fares to the city center. Insist on using the meter or pre-book a ride through the airport's prepaid taxi counter.
Porters inside the terminal sometimes demand excessive tips for basic luggage assistance. Agree on a small gratuity beforehand or politely decline their service and use the free trolleys.
Some private car drivers near the exit pose as 'official' hotel shuttle services and charge premium rates. Verify the driver's identity with your hotel or use the official hotel kiosk inside arrivals.
